I'm wondering... is high contrast really worth it? Not every program is compatable with the Windows High Contrast settings, and it's a pain to have to sit there for 15 minutes at a time configuring them to look like it. Then, there's the chance that if it's a mail or messaging program, people won't be able to read what you type. I've gotten that more than enough times. So, is high contrast really worth it if you can't afford a top-of-the-line magnifier like ZoomText that has its own high contrast?
i dont have enough vision to use it so to me its not worth it.
Do you just use a screenreader, or if you can read print still, do you put it on normal? See, that's who I was going after, those who had vision and could read print
Well, I can still read print and use zoomtext for the most part. I think high contrast is worth it depending on what you are using the program for and how often you're planning on using it.
I can still read print but strain my eyes to do so, and I hafta use this magnifier program that magnifies, for example, a 10 point text nine times... but I don't use the magnifier program unless I'm working with a MacroMedia site, and JAWS won't read it, or I'm looking at digital pics. I just rely on my screen reader now, and also, I don't use my monitor much anymore; I'm training myself for the day I wake up and ... booom!!! Bye bye, sight... and there's nothing I can do about it.
I use JAWS , but I have some vision in my right eye and I'm totally blind in my left eye. I do use a cctv for reading print and if it's big enough I can read it without it. I can have the print bigger if the computer that I am using doesn't have JAWS, but I prefer JAWS over anything else
